Podcast Re-Cap: Listen Money Matters. That will never work with Netflix Co-Founder Marc Randolph.
As an entrepreneur, I enjoyed this episode a great deal. I’m sure most of us have suffered from perfectionism and/or fear, when launching a new company, new idea for our company, or product. To hear an uber successful entrepreneur like Marc Randolf say, “the most powerful step that anyone can take to turn their dreams into reality is a simple one, you just need to start.” He drives the point home to simply get something out the door, get into action, test it. That is how you become successful.
The original idea, he says, is never that great. But you have to begin somewhere. So start testing your idea and you’ll learn what works, what doesn’t work, and you’ll adapt accordingly. The final result often looks nothing like the start and that’s okay! The new, tested and true result is light years better than the original, untested idea.
So get into action and start the process. The worst thing you can do is wait until everything is perfect, because perfect doesn’t exist and you’ll be waiting for eternity.
